It weighed 6,000 to 8,000 pounds. Maiasaura babies were 1 foot long. The Maiasaura's front legs were shorter than the back legs. They had a long tail.

Bones of the Maiasaura were first found in Montana in the United States Their bones have also been found in Canada.
