Camarasaurus was 24 to 65 feet long. It weighed 40,000 pounds. It had a small, long head with a flat nose. The Camarasaurus' teeth were shaped like spoons. It had thick legs with five toes on each foot. The middle toe on each foot had a sharp claw. The front legs were a little shorter than the back legs.

Camarasaurus lived 155 to 145 million years ago. That time was called the late Jurassic period. Other dinosaurs living at the same time were Diplodocus, Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus and Allosaurus. Bones of the Camarasaurus have been found in Utah and Wyoming in the United States and in Mexico.
